This Clever $21 Organizer Instantly Fixes Dead Storage in Any Cabinet

Clever storage hacks aren’t just for small-space living. True, when your square footage is limited, getting creative with storage is imperative. But having plenty of room doesn’t preclude the need to think strategically when it comes to functional organization.

For instance, at nearly 4,000 square feet, our Tennessee house is large by any standard (and I’m so thankful!). However, I’ve had to think a bit out-of-the-box due to some unusual features of the house. Our pantry, for example, is larger than the one in our previous house, but its configuration makes organizing a challenge. I’ve had to use wall-mounted baskets for stashing produce, and shelf-risers and turntables for maximizing accessibility on the deep shelves.

Using unexpected storage solutions is applicable to many situations, and having options in mind helps when faced with any organizing conundrum. I recognized just such a solution when I saw this hack on Instagram by Courtney Broadhead (@keepitsimplesparkles). In the video, Broadhead shows how you can use a straw holder inside your cabinet door to store straws instead of having them take up space in a drawer.

“Keep everything neat and accessible while reclaiming valuable countertop and drawer real estate!” shares Broadhead in the post. Any time I can empty out a drawer, I’m happy. Drawers, to me, are prime storage space. This holder sits on the back of a cabinet door and uses space that’s usually untapped, which makes room for other items in the drawer.

The holder is so easy to apply, too: Simply use the included double-sided tapes and adhere it to the door. I love that this holder allows you to store water bottle straws, reusable straws, and disposable straws near the bottles. It has dividers in it, which allows you to keep those different types of straws separate and prevents them from falling over. In addition to storing straws, this holder could be great for keeping chopsticks, skewers, spatulas, and even scissors organized.Even if you don’t have a need for this holder at the moment, knowing about it means you can get one to solve any future storage needs.
